Description[]
The scanner is a mid-range proximity tool that detects valuable ores up to a maximum range with trained talents of 400 meters.
Usage[]
The scanner auto-scans periodically as you move around. Running or dashing will trigger the auto-scan.
The ore line indicates how close you are to the ore, so lower numbers are better (e.g. 0 distance means you're right on the ore). It's recommended to run around until the ore line gets as close to 0 as possible (typically between 100 and 50m), then dig down for the ore. For a more in depth discussion go to the scanning page. For asteroid mining go to the Asteroid Detection and Mining Page.
Tips[]
- After you get close to the ore you can use the directional scan tool to pinpoint its location.
- Don't forget to use your light (default keybind: L) when it gets dark.
- You can use middle mouse button to auto-mine dirt with the scan tool out
- You can configure it to only show specific ores by clicking Tab then clicking on the Scan interface in the middle of the screen
- Holding Alt and clicking LMB will also scan if the cool down timer has been complete.
